About Matt
At the age of 12, I was inspired by Charleston, South Carolina artist Gordon Wheeler, and JIm Booth. Having no ability to draw or paint, I soon discovered photography. I was soon very addicted. Shooting around 5 rolls of film a week. In fact, I shot so many rolls of film that some of them have still not been developed 16 years later. Since the age of 12 I have photographed weddings, events, fashion, portraits, and even high school sports.
I have also studied the works of many famous, and not so famous photographers. The works of photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Paul Strand have inspired my photography over the years, and encouraged to take my photographic endeavors more serious.
With this website I hope not only to promote my business, but also provide reviews of products, and provide mini lessons from history. Many elements of photography can be learned from studying great photographers, and their work.
To me, a photograph isn’t just a picture. It is a way to encapsulate a fraction of a second in time that can tell a lifetime worth of stories. It can express ultimate emotion. Photographs have feelings. They can express joy, or sadness, or discomfort, or anything that happened in that fraction of a second.
